Chaoyong Wang is the founding partner and CEO of ChinaEquity International Holding Co. Ltd. As a venture capitalist, Mr. Wang presently serves as an advisor to the Global Environment Funds (GEF) co-sponsored by the World Bank and State Economic and Trading Commission of China, a special advisor to the Science Academy of China, and an advisor to the Economic Commission of the Beijing Municipal Government.
In year of 2000 and 2001, Mr. Wang was ranked as one of the Top-Twenty Most Active Venture Capitalists in China and ChinaEquity was also elected as one of the Top-Ten Venture Capital Firms in China.
Before founding ChinaEquity, Mr. Wang had spent 12 years in the investment banking and financial services industry with J. P. Chase, Standard & Poors, Morgan Stanley, and China Development Bank (CDB). During that time, he headed of Morgan Stanley's Beijing operation for 3 years. After that, Mr. Wang served CDB as a Deputy-Director-General advising CDB’s Investment Banking and Venture Capital business until the inception of ChinaEquity. Mr. Wang holds a Bachelor's degree from Huazhong University of Science and Technology and an MBA degree from Rutgers University. Mr. Wang has also attended the Senior Executive Program of Harvard University and Tsinghua University.
